Lindy Hop is a fun and expressive dance, just like the jazz and swing music it is danced to. It can be danced at a variety of tempos and energies, making it suitable for people of all ages and walks of life.

We are running 10 week Beginner Courses in January and October at all of our venues to get you set up with the basics of the dance. You can then come and join the main classes aimed at Improvers.

We have a reputation for teaching good technique in an

easy and friendly environment and we are proud of how

our students are progressing. We have selected our teachers very carefully for the Beginners Courses and they will nurture your introduction to Lindy Hop.

Lindy Hop is one of the most sociable partner dances and you will find yourself swept up in a caring, friendly community.

FAQ

Q: Do I need a partner?

A: No, we rotate partners throughout the class.

Q: Can I stick with my partner?

A: Yes, if you prefer to stay with your partner you can step out of the rotation. We do recommend that you join the rotation at a later date if possible as it is a better way to learn and a great way to get to know everyone!

Q: What do I need to wear?

A: Clothes that you are comfortable moving in, that will keep you cool. For your feet we recommend plimsoles or flat shoes to start with. Leather or suede soles are best.

Q: What music will we dance to?

A: Anything that swings! Including Louis Armstrong, Ella Fitzgerald, Count Basie, Duke Ellington, Frank Sinatra and modern artists such as Paloma Faith, Michael Buble & even a little Electo Swing!
